Last night went to go see Air at Fritzclub in Berlin. I was super happy to finally get the chance to see them play. I first bought the album, Moon Safari (1998) while I was in high school and was immediately hooked on them. They were quickly added to the list of "Acts to See Before Death" and I am happy to report the only act left on that list is Daft Punk (who, by the way, is playing in Paris in June). That was age 16, and eight years later that wish has been fullfilled. The concert shouldn't be categorized as a regular concert, where everyone is jumping around and screaming...more like a sea of people swaying with their eyes closed and the scent of marijuana in the air seemingly noticed only by me. They played my favorite song, "Run" off of the album Talkie Walkie (2004) among a wonderful selection from all their albums. I highly recommend the new album, Pocket Symphony. It makes me feel like I am wrapped in a warm blanket of French decadence in the middle of a field with faries all around me. Seriously.
