Duesseldorf und Zurrueck - Dusseldorf and Back
I left this past friday on the train and headed up to Duesseldorf, in the northern part of Germany to visit my friend Stefan. It was my fourth time in the town and as always, had a great time. Good to see some people I knew, and went out on Friday and Saturday night. One of the highlights was attending a Fortuna 95 game, Duesseldorf's minor league soccer team. Apparently, the reason no alchohol was served, was that they were playing Erfurt - a city in eastern Germany. It can get pretty ugly - but non alchoholic beer is pretty nasty too. It started raining in the middle of it all, therefore making me miss two goals. I have also discovered that generic beer exhists in Germany, only .29 cents per can. I consider myself a big beer connoisseur and this stuff is tas-ty! Think about it - 1.5 liters of beer for around $1. What a wonderful world Germany can be. Here's me with an example of the Export (red) and the Pils (black) there is also a Hefe-Weizen that exhists in an orange can - I'm thinking of starting a collection.

We went out Saturday night and I visited the original "Killepitsch" Stube. There, you can buy little shots of this fine liquor through a window. Think Jagermeister - but better - little sweeter and a lot smoother. This stuff will be my demise once I get my hadns on a full bottle. The liquor was originally from WWII and the story on their website is written in Duesseldorf-ish and I can't understand damn word. Nowadays it's called "Kill the Bitch" because this stuff will rock you to no end.Take a look at the webite and the bottle, this stuff means business. Talk about tough.
Also was made aware that men in Germany eat raw meat with onions for breakfast.

No joke, that is raw hamburger meat that Stefan is eating. Granted, it's not the most popular among the young people in Germany - but he seemed to enjoy it. Took all my might not to throw up all over the bus stop. To each is own though, I like pickles and milk together.
Here is a nice picture I took walking home Saturday night, the benches have lights in them and it was a very cool sight to see! For a minute coming up on it, I had no idea what it was. Then I got closer and realized that they are all lit up - never seen anything like it. Glad we decided to walk home instead of the tram.

On the way home the train made it's way through the Black Forest and I was able to get this beauty...third one I've seen in three weeks!
